About Colorado ASBO

The Colorado Association of School Business Officials (Colorado ASBO or CASBO) was originally founded in the 1920's although records are very sketchy and the Association went dormant.  As a result, it was subsequently reactivated in 1953.   Colorado ASBO serves all 178 Colorado School Districts, BOCES, Charter Schools and their respective staffs by providing professional development, promoting best practices strategies and creating professional collaboration and networking opportunities.    In the 1960's we became known as the Rocky Mountain Association of School Business Officials (RMASBO), a regional organization which included Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming. In 1969, RMASBO elected our first regional president from Cheyenne, WY.

Utah and Wyoming eventually organized as State Affiliates and in 1992, Colorado ASBO reorganized as a State organization.

Colorado ASBO, an affiliate of the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBOI), provides opportunities through its conferences for professional development, the exchange of information and ideas among members, networking with other school business officials, and trade shows which feature exhibits of innovative and new products and services available to school systems. ColoradoASBO serves all 178 Colorado School Districts, BOCES, Charter Schools and their respective staffs. ColoradoASBO members represent every facet of school business management and operations including finance, accounting, payroll, human resources, risk management, transportation, child nutrition, maintenance and operations, information technology, purchasing and facilities.

ColoradoASBO is the leading organization for those who work in the business side of schools.
